Healthy Berry and Yogurt Popsicles Recipe
Berry and yogurt popsicles are a refreshing and healthy treat, perfect for a hot day or as a nutritious snack. This recipe is easy to make and combines the creamy texture of Greek yogurt with the natural sweetness of berries. Here’s how to make them:
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups mixed fresh or frozen berries (such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries)
1 large ripe banana, peeled and sliced
2 cups plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional for added sweetness)
Instructions
Prepare the Berries:
Wash and dry the fresh berries. If using frozen berries, there's no need to thaw them.
Place the berries in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. If you prefer, you can leave some chunks of fruit for texture.
Mix with Yogurt:
In a large bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and honey or maple syrup if using.
Gently fold in the blended berries and banana slices. You can mix thoroughly for a uniform color or swirl lightly to create a marbled effect.
Fill the Molds:
Spoon the mixture into popsicle molds, filling each one to the top.
Insert popsicle sticks into the molds.
Freeze:
Place the molds in the freezer for at least 4 hours, or until the popsicles are completely frozen.
Serve:
To release the popsicles, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds.
Enjoy your homemade berry and yogurt popsicles immediately, or store them in a resealable freezer bag for up to 3 months.
Tips
Sweetness: Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or maple syrup, or leave it out if the berries and banana are sweet enough.
Vegan Option: Substitute Greek yogurt with a plant-based yogurt such as coconut or almond yogurt to make this recipe dairy-free and vegan-friendly.
